A FABULOUS year in Weddings, Engagements & more!

Here at YStudio we take great pride in serving our clients in the San Francisco Bay Area with gorgeous portraiture.  Be it a newborn, graduation, birthday, wedding or a lifestyle session, we dedicate ourselves to YOU and we dedicate ourselves to the celebration!

2011 was a very difficult year for many, but we are grateful to all of the fabulous people we photographed last year and we wanted to share a glimpse of some of our favorite moments in 2011.  We wish everyone health, happiness, prosperity, and most importantly …. L O V E!  And thank you for sharing your precious moments with us!

Alexis & Roger … a “delicious” San Francisco Engagement

Take a peek into a fun engagement session we had with Alexis and Roger.  It was a gorgeous day in San Francisco and we were thrilled to be shooting stills as well as fusion video with my good friend and colleague, Josh Rodriguez.  This happy couple will be celebrating their nuptials on July 30th also in San Francisco and they will be celebrating their reception at the ever so fabulous boutique-style Hotel Adagio! This fab session took place at the Legion of Honor, and San Francisco’s Beach Chalet, these locations mean a lot to the couple since it’s in the immediate area of where they met and frequented when dating.

There are so many celebrations herein and besides having two fabulous children, getting engaged, and planning a fabulous summer wedding in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Alexis also has a personal celebration and journey that I am proud to be a part of.  She’s a gorgeous woman indeed, and although there have been some challenges,  she has shed a near 70 pounds! Yes, 70!  She is still losing weight and I cannot wait to see her get into her dress on the wedding day.  I am sure it will be emotional,  exciting and a sight for sore eyes.  She has inspired me with my personal weight loss journey and I hope she can inspire, and touch some of you gals out there battling the “bulge.”

Many of you who follow my work, know too well, my passion of working and photographing BBW’s (big beautiful women), I see all the beauty, big or small…..it’s all about feeling better, and once you feel better you look better, and then again, looking and feeling better is key, wedding day or not.  Stay tuned to see more of this gorgeous gal and join me in congratulating Alexis and Roger on their recent engagement,  we’ll see you at the wedding!

Natalia & Max – A San Francisco treat!

Meet Natalia and Max a young delightful couple which we met at one of our recent bridal shows.  This happy couple will tie the knot in August and what makes this engagement shoot just a little “extra” special is that days following this shoot, Max was to embark out of state, until………………. you guessed right, the wedding!

It was a pleasure to capture these special moments not only to embrace and celebrate their engagement (which was done on the Golden Gate Bridge itself), but to freeze their moment in time with a bittersweet sendoff as well.  The couple is counting down til the day Max comes home and they can get hitched as planned in Walnut Creek, CA.

Join us in wishing this happy couple the very best, I am sure they would appreciate it!

Lisa & Marsilio….a lifestyle engagement session

A heartfelt congratulations to Lisa and Marsilio on their engagement and soon to be wedding! They also won an Engagement Session giveaway from one of our most recent bridal shows, and we couldn’t wait to share a peek into this fabulous and inspiring session!

When I met Lisa, her enthusiasm lit the path for what has become a very nice experience for us all. Lisa and Marsilio are having their summer wedding at Oakland’s The Cathedral of Christ the Light on Lake Merritt. Their reception will be held at the Bellevue Club also on the ever so lovely, Lake Merritt.

One of the things I love most about being a wedding and lifestyle photographer is that I get to meet some of the most incredible people. People from different walks of life, culture, traditions and ethnicity. Lisa, who is of Japanese and Guatemalan descent, and Marsilio who is of Italian and Nicaraguan descent truly bring a lot to the table. And, get a load of this, they met while salsa dancing at a tropical club, and both are steamers on the dance floor! Talk about passion, and cultures that are fully engulfed with vibrancy, this couple is surely among the most exciting couples we have met and have worked with.

When Lisa said she would love to have her engagement session taken at home, a place they both treasure, I was ecstatic! Why? Because this is exactly what I do! I am a lifestyle photographer, and immediately, my mind was racing with ideas. When I shared with the couple the direction this shoot was going in, it excited them and they were ready to roll! See here for yourselves why this has got to be one of the best ideas when planning your engagement or even portrait session. It breathes, life, it breathes style, and in the end it breathes YOU!

Here’s a SNEAK peek….enjoy!

Congratulations Kenneth & Natalie Jamaca…our contest winners!

YStudio would like to congratulate Ken and Natalie on their win of our recent contest “Stories of Love.” Ken was so excited he predicted from day 1 that he was going to win and really was determine to get the word out to their friends and family.

Couple embraced through marble pillars

This happy couple from Pleasanton, CA, remains as one of our favorite wedding shoots, they are so full of life, energy and down to earth, how could you not love them? Plus we all had a blast at this wedding….Another bit of great news came a few months ago when Natalie called me to announce that her and Ken were expecting! Not only was I excited, but I was thrilled that we have stayed in touch and I look forward to shooting their new baby soon!

It’s so wonderful when couples become friends, and to keep in touch and be the one entrusted with their life, their milestones and their photography is heart touching to say the least!

Congrats again guys! Your prize is forthcoming….surprise!!!! And hoping to see you at the shower!
